The Children, Youth and Family Consortium (CYFC) is grounded in the belief that research evidence can enhance the quality of practice and policy decision-making, but only if the evidence is provided to relevant stakeholders and in accessible and digestible forms. In addition to scholarly publication, CYFC is committed to making sure that communities, policymakers and others are provided with research evidence generated through our own research efforts and we provide this service for others as well. Possible routes for dissemination include showcasing research findings in our publication Connections, featuring the research on our website, developing research or policy briefs, convening meetings with stakeholders or hosting events and presentations.

When mental health practitioners in Minnesota indicated a need for a greater understanding of the current research on autism, CYFC's Children's Mental Health program created a series of seminars on autism. Each seminar featured a well-known researcher on a particular aspect of autism, and a panel of practitioners who talked about how to apply the research. This Lessons From the Field series has addressed several current topics related to children's mental health.
