Parenting Resources for Latino Families

This database of parenting resources is designed for professionals and community members who work with Latino families. It includes curricula, fact sheets, videos, web resources, and research articles. Each resource is reviewed using these criteria: culturally and linguistically appropriate, reflects child development stages, includes a child abuse prevention model, has been evaluated, and addresses the needs of children at specific ages.

The project was commissioned by Unidos Para Los Niños and conducted with the assistance of the University of Minnesota's Children, Youth & Family Consortium during 2000-2001. A grant from the University of Minnesota's Center for Urban and Regional Affairs (CURA) funded the research phase of the project, conducted by Misty Heggeness, a graduate student in Family Social Science and Public Policy. University of Minnesota undergraduate, Elizabeth Sifuentes, prepared and translated materials for the database.
